Storing Fresh Fish

Proper handling of fish to prolong its shelf life begins at the market where you purchase it. It’s best to buy fish last to avoid it being exposed from unsafe temperatures for a longer period of time. Bring a cooler with ice where you can store fish from the market as you travel back home. Put your fish in an airtight plastic bag and place it in the freezer to prevent spoiling. Fresh fish can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two days.
